Project 365: Day 213

Project 365: Day 213

Practising the same illustration technique as before. I saw something similar online with this shape, so here's my own rendition.

Children's Hot Chocolate

Too cute. Perhaps one day I'll get to give a little child their own hot chocolate.

Leica M9

I hear so much about rangefinders and their stunning image quality. Perhaps one day I will get to try one out for myself! Unfortunately, this one is definitely not affordable for me, but perhaps there is another that will be.

Project 365: Day 212

Project 365: Day 212

A little 'me' time today, to catch up on a few things and take care of some appointments.

I'm still learning how to take self portraits with this camera. Having difficulty getting sharp eyes when taking the photo, any ideas?

In Grey

I've gravitated a lot to grey this year, not even sure why! Just love how it goes with everything, it's like my new black. Love the look here, it's a perfect boyfriend styled top with a light, floaty fabric. I still need to find a pair of grey jeans to add to my closet!

Traveler, not Tourist

I think I fall in the category of traveler.

Project 365: Day 211

Project 365: Day 211

Spent this rainy Sunday working on some new illustrating techniques.

Project 365: Day 210

Project 365: Day 210

Attempted to take pictures while the husband was playing with the cat. It's super hard to get a sharp shot! Love this picture, but regrettably there is a lot of clutter in the background. Oh well, at least I know for next time!

Perfectly complimentary neutrals with white on white and a silver capped shoe to top off the look.

Unique Envelope Addressing

How fun and personalized for those who receive them. I think I'm going to have to try this the next time I send out cards!

Logic and Imagination

Lets have both, and see where it takes us.

Summer Blue and Lace

Perfect summer outfit, the bright blue under the lace would be the perfect contrast. Unfortunately, I haven't found too many lace tops that look too great on me, but I guess I just have to keep hunting!

Project 365: Day 209

Project 365: Day 209

Pistachios are apparently one of the healthiest nuts for you out there. Good thing, since I bought a giant bag just the other day!

The Olympics start today, let the games begin!

White Umbrella Lights

A fun idea and a little quirky but a lot of personality that could be any colour of the rainbow. Could you imagine walking out into your backyard or a in front of your building and looking up at this?

Orange and Blue Polka Dots

Two of my favour colours come together in this cozy burnt orange cardigan and slightly oversized polka dots. Time to think about fall clothes!

Project 365: Day 208

Project 365: Day 208

Balancing out the cheesy baked gnocchi with a side of salad for dinner tonight. So delicious and easy to make!

Otherworldly Train

An interesting image for another place and time. I can't remember the last time that I saw a train that billowed up steam and coal smoke, it makes it feel like this image is from another world.

Yellow Accented Kitchen

A perfectly balanced kitchen with a neutral base. I love the large island and the yellow accents that give this kitchen such a pop of cheer.

Project 365: Day 207

Project 365: Day 207

I think the cat doesn't particularly care for the camera, so I get the husband to distract and confuse her. This is the typical bewildered response!

The Brain

A neat design based on what the architect, Tom Kundig, based the neighbourhood birthplace of invention, the garage. With a strong but neutral form, it lets this place become a playground for thoughts and inspiration with spaces that can change easily over time.

Lamp Shade Storm

A fun idea to place in an art room or a child's room. might be pretty easy to make, though you'd have to watch out for it not to be a fire hazard! Would make for some great photo opportunities at the very least.

Project 365: Day 206

Project 365: Day 206

In an effort to reverse the sweet tooth, I've been eating three different fruits a day. It's great, I love that berries are in season!

DIY Terrariums

What a great idea to have a little planting party. These are pretty adorable and would be quite low maintenance for most people.

Carmine Leather Jacket

Beautiful, I love the draping of this soft leather jacket with the undertones of pink.

Project 365: Day 205

Currently my favourite chocolate bar - I just love the sweet and salty combination with the dark chocolate.

Never a truer thought - if you don't work, you'll never find what you're looking for. Everyone expects that it will just come, but it won't unless you want it to.

Stripes and Dots

Stripes and dots? I can dig it.

Project 365: Day 204

Project 365: Day 204

Yesterday's experimental project in progress. Attempted a transfer using a gel medium and it was quite successful! You may recognize them from the Portland photo set. Just two others to go and then to finish with a trim before putting them up.

She Believed She Could

So she did.

Military Styling

Love this meshy, perforated top paired with the boots and the military styled jacket. As much as I have been thinking summer fashion, I have been thinking of the fall as well!

Project 365: Day 203

Project 365: Day 203

Took out the paints to try something new. So far so good, so I hope to post the results tomorrow!

Summer Preppy

Love this preppy combination, particularly the purse. I think with a longer pair of shorts, this would work very well at the office.

Still looking for a light coloured summer purse, to no avail at the moment. However, before I know it, summer will be over soon!

Freestsanding Mini Bookshelf

Not really sure what to call this, but it seems to be a good idea for keeping the books you are reading in order and hold a great cup of tea (isn't that how we should always enjoy a book, I think so!). It's a simple but functional design. Now... what happens if you mostly read on your Kindle, like I do, these days??

Project 365: Day 202

Project 365: Day 202

I was playing with the new flash tonight (and trying not to accidentally blind myself with it). Today was stick an object between the flash and the where the picture is being taken and see what happens. The samurai swords seem to cast a pretty menacing and interesting shadow above the fireplace.

Stylish Boys

Is it bad that when I look at these photos, I hope that if I have kids that I can dress them up like this? So cute, and absolutely practical with the layers.

Mila Kunis for Miss Dior

Beautiful shoot for Mila Kunis, it does really have that Jackie O. vibe. Can't wait to see the rest of the results of this shoot.

Project 365: Day 201

Sometimes when my yoga mat is out, my cat will for no apparent reason at all just dive underneath it. Here I present our version of a yoga cat, covered in dust from who knows where.

Bike with Pets

That dog posing is just too cute! Her outfit also is quite cute and practical, I love the little hat and the bib necklace.

Striped Colours, Black and White

A little subtle colour goes a long way. Liking this matchup of stripes and colour.

Project 365: Day 200

Project 365: Day 200

On the way to the doctor's I got caught in a torrential downpour. I couldn't see for the rain pouring down my face and by the time I got there, I was soaked right through my underwear and dripped in the front entrance of my doctor's.

This is a pretty good approximation of what I could see, by which it was not much!

This also makes Day 200! I feel that I've improved by leaps and bounds already and I am already looking forward to seeing what my next 165 days will be like!

Printed Silk Blouse

Absolutely gorgeous printed silk blouse that goes well with a structured blazer. A perfect summer matchup on trend with the leather look shorts!

Sketchbook Favours

Love the idea of sketchbooks as favours, really they are just a book for everything. Practical and personal. We toyed with the idea as well, but went with a different idea in the end.

Project 365: Day 199

Project 365: Day 199

Found a good deal on a SB-700 and it arrived today. Discovered I had no batteries, so all I can do is read the manual tonight. Hopefully I'll get a chance to play with it a bit on the weekend though I have a few other projects on my mind.

Do More of What Makes You Happy

Working on it - it can only happen one day at a time, one step at a time. Slowly by little, as a mentor had once told me.

Less is More Living

Value the simplicity of a home. Less clutter means more space for you, your family and less to clean! This is made easy with open clean floors, a simple love seat and some lighting where needed.

My cat does a great deer caught in headlights look. Those striking yellow eyes definitely don't help that!

Finally caught up to my Project 365 photos!

Project 365: Day 197

Project 365: Day 197

I was so delighted to see cherries back in season and reasonably priced!

Bold Accents Mini Office

Simple and bold for small spaces that need to function as offices. I love the recurring red, so cheeky and fun!

Neon Yellow Blouse

Love the pop of colour that is this neon yellow blouse and it's just right on trend with the colours of the season. Would love to own one, but I think I'm better off with an orange or a red!

Project 365: Day 196

Project 365: Day 196

Followed the recipe for crispy salted oatmeal white chocolate cookies (substituting dark chocolate chips) from the Smitten Kitchen. These were great - crispy with a great chew. I'll definitely make them again!
